‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2, episode 6 preview: Can Vincent and Cat really leave together?
“Beauty and the Beast” is probably best described these days as a “tragic romance,” at least in that you have two people who do seem to want to be with each other, but appear to be continually blocked from doing so courtesy of a series of circumstances that get in their way.
So what is the latest one? Let’s just say that it involves a mission that will basically force Vincent to spend some time with a female one of his kind. The sad thing about it is that before this happens, Jay Ryan’s character tells Cat that the two of them are only a matter of missions away from getting away from beasts and all of the madness, where they can then run away and have a life of peace that they have always dreamed of.
The episode on Monday is entitled “Father Knows Best,” and the synopsis below gives you an indication of just what you can expect:
“Cat (Kristin Kreuk) confronts her birth father (guest star Ted Whitall) about the mysterious role he’s played in her life, while Vincent (Jay Ryan) has to neutralize a high-profile beast. In the process of doing so, Vincent finds himself rescuing Tori (guest star Amber Skye Noyes), a damsel in distress, who may be the key to completing his mission.”
Amber Skye Noyes is going to be around for several episodes in this role, and could be at least one of the latest major threats to the couple’s relationship. Tori is a different sort of beast (literal and figurative) than Cat, and she could bring out a different, more aggressive side of Cat. In other words, she offers up something that Kristin Kreuk’s character cannot.
what do you think is going to happen this week, and is there ever a moment in your mind where you do actually think that Vincent and Cat are going to go away and be happy for a time? Well, I’m going to be honest. I was very invested in this show last season, and couldn’t wait till this one. We, as fans worked hard to get it renewed, because we thought that the writers had our backs. They knew what we loved, and it seems they have gone out of their way to do exactly the opposite. All I can say is, thanks, but no thanks. After tonights ep, and reading what they have planned now with Tori, I’m done. Cya.

Then you’re going to miss all the really awesome times of Cat and Vincent triumphing over all the obstacles thanks to the strength of their love.
Of course they’re going to throw obstacles in their path. Love relationships on TV are always tumultuous, they always have to fight for it, because there has to be a story. If it were all picnics on the roof all the time, it would get repetitive. This way, when they finally get to the picnic on the roof, it’s really earned and it means so much more.

This isn’t what Beauty and the Beast is about. Never was and never should be. This show is unlike other shows. I suppose you are a male? Last season was epic love, this year all it has turned into is beast killing and Gabe. We are tired of it. We want our VinCat back. Obstacles have to come, we all realize that, but not through love triangles. And JT isn’t even on it anymore. He was one of the reasons we watched. We love him. Just believe me, this show is slipping. I read peoples comments on Twitter and Facebook and believe me, most are feeling the same as me. We need female writers to get back to what this show is really is. I don’t want to see this, and neither do a lot of others.
