‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water’ preview: A merge, a reunion, and another blindside?
Isn’t it time now where “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” actually stops promoting that there is a blindside coming in all of their promos? We think so, and for two pretty simple reasons. First of all, yelling “blindside!” in every promo does not have the same sort of weight it used too and is therefore making the blindside seem somewhat less cool. It’s like what happens on a superhero show when everyone starts getting powers, and you eventually only have one powerless dude and he suddenly seems like the interesting one in the middle of all of the craziness.
Also, isn’t this more or less giving away the farm? A good example of that is that when Kat Edorsson went home two weeks ago, the promos hinted at a blindside, and it was clearly not going to be a blindside for viewers as to who was going home when you consider that Vytas Baskauskas knew that he was in trouble. Therefore, if someone who knows they are in danger shows up at tribal council alongside someone in the dark, we know which way that the pendulum is going to swing.
The two guys clearly in the biggest danger of this epic blindside, are the Baskauskas brothers. We wrote last night that Vytas needs to allow his brother to be kicked to the curb soon, and this could be the perfect opportunity in which to see the move happen given that Tyson Apostol and Gervas Peterson (a.k.a. Team Coconut) clearly want the guy out. Aras thinks that he is in control of the game, and that probably makes this all the sweeter.
But if Aras could be a potential target, who could the other one be? One easy person to pick off at this point would be Hayden Moss, since he has no loved one, is not a returning player, and is a physical threat. The only other person we could see is whoever returns from Redemption Island, especially if it is Laura given that she already has another player on her side in Ciera.
