‘The X Factor’ UK: Gary Barlow expected Miss Dynamix exit, just like most of us did
But while Gary may be sad to lose one of his acts so early in the competition, he at the same time is not in the least bit surprised by it. Speaking on the “Xtra Factor” series on ITV2 after the results were first read, the Take That frontman and the group’s mentor expressed his sadness for the decision:
“I knew when they missed a week last week that, historically on the show, people don’t like that. We knew we had a big mountain to climb, but I was hoping because of what happened last weekend, people would have shown a little bit more sympathy.”
Unfortunately for Gary, this is the age of the internet, and we are not entirely sure that everyone out there even remembers what sympathy is and what it should look like. If there is a reason early on for a people on Twitter (most of them bitter) to snipe at a contestant, they are going to do so. The problem with this group is that their performances were not great, and there were also plenty of opinions on Foster deciding not to reveal her pregnancy until after the Judges Houses portion of the competition, where she and her fellow group members were put through to the live rounds.
These three ladies can at least testify to having the support of music mogul Simon Cowell, who tweeted after the show tonight that he would have voted to keep them. Is this Simon probably stirring the pot? Sure, but he also knows that right now, groups make money, and maybe he would’ve had a new Destiny’s Child.
