‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: First photo of Adam Lambert as Elliott ‘Starchild’ Gilbert

When are you going to see the first official photo of Adam Lambert on “Glee”? Well, let’s just say that the waiting is over! If you look over to the left, you can see the “Trespassing” singer and the former “American Idol” star in his role as Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert.

We’re just glad right now that after so much waiting, this role is starting to become a little bit clearer. Starchild is a bold performer, and possibly one that is a little bolder than any of the others can handle. He auditions for the new band formed by Kurt (Chris Colfer), and there are fears that he may be too crazy to really fit in with the rest of the ensemble (which also includes Rachel, Santana, and Demi Lovato’s Dani). Does he make it in? Well, we at least know that Adam is rumored to be appearing in at least more episode after this one, so take that as what you will.

Adam’s debut on the show is just under two weeks away now, as he and many others have the challenge now of trying to make the next few weeks of the show as exciting as possible. At the end of this fall run, “Glee” is going to go on a hiatus and will not be back on the air until the spring. The network confirmed this today in releasing their midseason schedule, and “Rake” is going to take the place of the show so that there is no dead period on Fox with just repeats on the air. Let’s just hope that viewers stick it out and come back to the show once that lengthy break is over.

While we’re worried about the future of “Glee” beyond that point, let’s just focus for now on the picture, and on Adam’s role: We expect this to be fun, and after the Cory Monteith tribute, we need it. We would also find it personally hilarious if Starchild, when not performing, is this sort of shy, soft-spoken guy who does not like to stand out of the crowd. Plus, we would love to see Adam have an opportunity to take on a very interesting, layered sort of character.
