‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 4 spoilers: When will Melanie Griffith first appear?

Melanie Griffith is coming to “Hawaii Five-0,” but it may still take a little bit of time before she is going to actually be around for a pretty sizable arc. The actress will appear in three episodes, but the main news is that these episodes will not come up until the second half of the season. This means that there is many more to get to until that time, and the writers are going to have their hands full taking on most of that.

So how does she arrive on the show as Danny’s mom? For an explanation of that, why not turn to a person who really knows this story better than anyone. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, executive producer / showrunner Peter M. Lenkov had the following to say:

“Danny gets a knock on the door one day and there’s Melanie Griffith with a couple of bags. She left the husband, who’s acting like a 25-year-old and going through a midlife crisis. She says she just can’t take it anymore, so she moves in with him and it’s a little like The Odd Couple. You’re going to learn a lot about Danny in those episodes.”

They say that seeing the family is a great way to learn a few things about a person, and this could be a pretty perfect opportunity to do that. It also helps that Griffith is a great talent and very entertaining to watch, and she should bring in that extra dimension to the show that could be missing in the eyes of many right now.

At the end of the day, “Hawaii Five-0” is doing quite a bit when they try to figure out how to promote the show and get people to watch in the spring and Griffith’s appearance, after all, is just the tip of the iceberg.
