‘The Americans’ season 2 spoilers: Will Margo Martindale return as Claudia?
For those wondering whether or not “The Millers” was going to sadly remove Margo Martindale out of the world of “The Americans,” know this: Claudia is not done within the world of the show just yet.
As executive producer Joel Fields tells TVLine, Margo will be around for at least one episode during season 1 in the same role that brought her much acclaim the first go-around. This also means an opportunity to further work with Graham Yost for a little while longer; her role on “Justified” may have won her an Emmy, but it only lasted for the second season.
But what will happen to Claudia this season, given that she is only going to be around briefly? Either she will find herself some more business to attend to, Elizabeth will get her wish and get a new contact or they may kill her off. We’re definitely not hoping for the latter, mostly because the last thing that we want to see is her killed of on yet another Yost show. You also may want to keep her part on here open in case something does happen with “The Millers.” While the ratings have been good so far, remember that the show is coming on after “The Big Bang Theory.” To us, that is the biggest pressure that you could possibly have for your show to succeed, since CBS expects more from it. We haven’t been super hot about “The Millers” as a whole yet, even if Margo has been pretty fantastic in it … which goes for the majority of everything that she is in.
