‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: What are Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder for Halloween?
Stop us when this one sounds familiar: There is a major dance coming on “The Vampire Diaries” this season! The only difference here is that rather than being themed around some particular decade (a Mystic Falls favorite), this one seems to be much more college-oriented.
As for what is going on in this photo, we’re assuming that it may be a part of some sort of Whitmore College theme dance at Halloween time. After all, the episode is entitled “Monster’s Ball,” and for some silly reason it is actually airing on Halloween night. We don’t quite understand the logic of putting a show on a night when many teenage viewers will be busy getting a sugar rush from their little brother’s candy, but to each their own, right?
The biggest thing probably worth noting first and foremost about the photo is that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are dancing together! Does that mean that Damon and Elena are still going strong? It’s a sign in the right direction. The last thing that you would want to see right now is evidence of trouble in paradise, and for a good many reasons:
1. There are already stories out there about a prominent couple on the show coming to an end soon, and they are one of the major candidates of it happening to.
2. They just got together at the end of last season! After waiting to see them together for so long, why split them up now?
3. Given that Stefan looks to be getting back into his angry ripper phase, it feels almost like the last thing that should really happen right now is having Elena wander around without any sort of tangible support system. Damon is that to her and then some right now.
While these two are seemingly dancing happily in this photo, just remember that this is “The Vampire Diaries” that we are talking about here. Just because there is a happy dance going on right now doesn’t mean that this same dance will be happening a few minutes later. Trouble is always afoot for these people / members of the undead family … and tragedy typically follows.
