‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: When Barney finds out about Ted’s feelings…

Whenever you think about Ted and Robin at this point in the series run of “How I Met Your Mother,” there is something that tends to come along with it: Drama. Everything here has been well documented at this point: Ted still loves Robin despite his million attempts to get over her, and the problem that comes along with that is the oh-so simple one known as his best friend is about to marry her. If he is ever going to meet he woman of his dreams (which he will this year, courtesy of Cristin Milioti), he’s going to have to get over her soon.

This is what “The Broken Code” is all about. This could be the heaviest episode of the first few this season, since it could be one of the largest real fights that has ever happened between Ted and Barney. As the synopsis for this episode (which airs on October 7) clearly shows, they are going to call in some help in order to resolve the issue:

“While Barney works through his anger at Ted after finding out he still has feelings for Robin, Marshall Skypes in to act as a judge and help settle their dispute. Meanwhile, Lily realizes she is Robin’s only girlfriend.”

While using our best Ted voice, here is a fun fact about this episode: It was originally going to air on September 30, but it and the originally-planned-to-be-fourth episode of the season were swapped around. This will allow more tension to build before we get to this fight, which could change the Ted / Barney relationship forever.
