‘The Mindy Project’ season 2 premiere: Watch it here now! (video)

The episode -While “The Mindy Project” season 2 is not going to air on Fox until next week, you don’t have to wait to watch the premiere episode … at least provided that you are reading this article in America.

Fox debuted the show’s first episode back (entitled “All Problems Solved Forever”) this week across digital platforms like Hulu and their own website, and you can see it in full below. This is obviously yet another attempt by the network to make the low-rated show happen, but after watching the episode as a whole, it’s hard to really complain about them putting forth the effort to the extent that they have.

When this show premiered last year, we thought it was mildly funny, but also incredibly disjointed and flawed. You had a sense that Mindy Kaling had a character, but did not know the universe to surround her in yet. That has thankfully changed now, and we have a creation that is much more complete, and also much more hilarious. We’re not stretching the truth at all here in saying that this is a funny show. It has that right combination of serious and silly to feel almost like “Scrubs” meets “Sex and the City,” and the cast is much more refined.

While we are going to save talking about the finer details of this episode until next week, hats off here to James Franco for a hilarious performance as a doctor that threatens Mindy’s presence at her practice. He’s both incredibly funny and somewhat inhuman at the same time, and he will pose a significant threat to her throughout the first few episodes of the year.
