‘The Mindy Project’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Mad Men’s’ Ben Feldman to romance Mindy Kaling
The words “[insert actor here] to romance Mindy Kaling” probably is a familiar headline at this point to most fans of “The Mindy Project.” While you could say that Mindy is getting enough prospective boyfriends at this point to be considered a favorite to be the next “Bachelorette,” at least these characters are all being played by a very impressive array of guest stars. (Plus, she still doesn’t hold a candle to Ted from “How I Met Your Mother” in the dating department.)
For an example of Kaling’s casting clout, just look at the roster of people already booked on the show this year: Glenn Howerton, James Franco, and Timothy Olyphant just to name a few and they join a list that includes many other names from season 1. The latest actor joining the mix? Ben Feldman, otherwise known as Ginsberg from “Mad Men.” Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Jack Burditt describes the character that he is going to play on the show:
“He’s an arts and culture writer and a bit of a snob — he kind of looks down on Mindy’s taste … There’s an attraction there, but also a divide between them. She’ll say things, and she has no idea what he’s talking about. [We’ll see] how these two people who are very different can get along. ”
The idea of this sort of dynamic sounds especially hilarious, and the sort of comedy that Kaling excels at. We know that Feldman will be around for multiple episodes, which also dramatically increases the possibility of some very funny things going down … and even a chance for a genuine connection to be made between the two characters.
The new season of “The Mindy Project” will premiere following “New Girl” on Tuesday, September 17th at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Stop posting every pathetic press release Kaling’s people send you. No one’s buying the show, or her.
