‘Bones’ season 9: See Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, balloons in new promo picture

After a long summer season, “Bones” fans have the good news that the wait is just about over now. Two weeks from Monday, Fox will officially kick off their fall season with the launch of their long-running series’ ninth season. This is a collection of episodes that will hope to answer a number of questions, including whether or not there will be a Booth / Brennan wedding, if Sweets really is going to try to move on with the rest of his professional career, and if Pelant can really be stopped so that our characters can finally breathe a little bit easier.

But we’re going to have a little bit more on all of that in due time. The focus today is just on something that is both very fun and also very silly: The promo image attached to this article! This was first posted by TVLine, and it features Emily Deschanel and David Boreneaz literally making no bones about their love for the show. Accompanied by giant smiley skull balloons, the two appear to be enjoying their time together.

There’s not too much else to take from this photo outside of marveling at it being a pretty cool concept, so in transitioning to some of the stories coming up, there are a few things worth keeping an eye on.

1. Freddie Prinze Jr. – His character, who will play a part in multiple episodes this season, could impact Booth’s story in some way.

2. An ex-priest – This man will help both Booth and Brennan get their possible wedding back on track.

3. The entire opening arc – There is going to be something significant that happens before the show stops airing episodes for football, and that is all we will say for now.
