NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2 spoilers: Jim Beaver teams up with ‘Supernatural’ creator again
If there is one thing that is clearly present already when it comes to “Revolution,” it is that show creator Eric Kripke is more than interested in working with some of the folks that he and some other producers came to know from their days at “Supernatural.” Just take a look at Tracy Spiridakos in the leading role, or some other guest stars (including Mark Pellegrino) who have stopped by.
So who is the latest addition? According to TVLine, Jim Beaver, who you surely remember for his beloved role as Bobby on the series, is going to be stopping by the show in the role as John Franklin Fry, a man described as a smart Texas Ranger (not the baseball kind) who teams up with Miles. For the time being, his appearance will be limited to the episode “One Riot, One Ranger,” which is being written by another “Supernatural” veteran in Ben Edlund. (To think, there are no angels and devils on this show … at least literal ones.)
This welcome news goes hand in hand with the heavily-speculated talk that Beaver is also going to be back on “Supernatural” for season 9, though his specific place in the universe right now is still unclear. Is Bobby one of the fallen angels from Heaven? Given what we know about the character right now, that is a likely possibility. Given that Jim is also known for “Justified,” it’s safe to say that he is more than well-acquainted with action shows at this point.
But going back to “Revolution” now. If you want to check out a promo for the NBC series’ second go-around, be sure to click on the link here. The new season kicks off on the network starting on Wednesday, September 25 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.

I am confused about the reference to Tracey as a former Supernatural alumni since she was never in Supernatural. As for Bobby returning as a fallen angel that’ s not in the old Supernatural canon. Leviathans and Angels were soul less creations of God, only his third creation – humanity, have souls and human souls went to Heaven or Hell upon death but there is no mention of humans becoming angels.
