‘Arrow’ season 2: David Ramsey on ‘punching’ Stephen Amell (video)
Let’s start this article, before we say anything else, by giving a little bit of love to David Ramsey, one of the unsung heroes of The CW’s “Arrow.” He’s an actor we really loved on “Dexter” during his time there, and he does a great job here playing Diggle, a fiercely loyal ally for Oliver Queen who really has to put up with quite a bit. He’s been punched, stabbed, and basically forced to leave some of his own personal vendettas to the side (i.e. Deadshot) so that Oliver can do what he needs to do.
Thanks to all of this, is it fair to say that Diggle enjoyed the opportunity to have a little bit of power over “The Hood” in some way? It’s possible, based on what Ramsay says in the new video via The CW below. While he did not necessarily have an interest in nailing Stephen Amell in the face, the actor admitted that it was nice to see his character actually have an opportunity to take out some frustration.
As for where we could see Diggle go next, it’s an interesting question. Deadshot is still out there courtesy of the Suicide Squad, and we’re just hoping that he is not forgotten in the midst of having so many other characters on the show, including Roy Harper and Felicity Smoak now around in more permanent roles. We do admit that we find ourselves constantly worried about the man’s future on the show, just based on the high body count and that his character does not exactly come from the same mythology as the others.
