‘American Idol’: Fox boss suggests Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson out as possible judges
While it was very clear that the writing was on the wall for fans of Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson hoping to see them possibly returning as judges for “American Idol” season 13, you may as well now just start to accept that seeing either one of them on the show in this capacity just isn’t going to happen, at least for now.
First, we had the announcement that Keith Urban is going to return as a judge today at TCA, and that Jennifer Lopez was in negotiations to join him. Then, we had the following quote from Fox boss Kevin Reilly to “Entertainment Tonight,” which does more or less paint a very specific picture as to what the odds are of the former contestants turning up:
“There have been conversations, we love the alumni to return to the show in some fashion, but there were availability issues in trying to line up what felt right.”
Translation: It’s probably not going to happen, and if it were, we have a feeling that any and all availability issues could have been cleared up. We do think that this all-alumni panel would have been something that longtime fans of the series would have enjoyed, but who knows? Fox seems to believe that casting “stars” is going to end up drawing them better ratings. We’ll see who is actually right in January, when the show premieres. (Granted, we don’t know what the ratings would have been for an all-alumni panel, but if the ratings for this panel are bad, it would not have done any worse.)
Want to read more about Urban’s return, and who is likely to end up filling the third and final spot on the panel? If so, our advice is to just head on over to the link here.

JLO offer nothing except a paycheck which is not qualified to receive with her so line generic review. Get an all Idol alumni cast Bring back the show to roots. The voice will eat you alive. I like Keith Urban. If JLO comes back AI is definitely ead.

I still think a better fit would be for Adam Lambert to take Iovine’s spot as a mentor. They could probably schedule the mentoring sessions around Adam’s schedule.
Adam is also without a label right now. I am still SEEING “negotiations” and wonder about Interscope (Idol’s current label). I think a “package” (just said “negotiations” on TV) is being worked out.

If Adam’s appearance(s) on Glee get the show boffo ratings, maybe AI will reconsider having Adam as a judge the next year. The problem with Glee is that the music is pre-recorded. I want to see Adam sing live.

ISSUES?…utter hogwash!!…the TRUTH of the matter they are COWARDS when it comes to real change on this show and like most cowards they find a place to hide,so they will all be crunch down behind another clueless big hair diva hoping for a miracle but none will arrive…the treatment of Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson is a disgrace…nothing left at idol but liars and cowards.

Further to my previous post….make sure you all tune into Glee…never watched it before…but Adam is a definite go for this one….albeit there has been a bit of a setback now that Cory Monteith will no longer be in the show…but anyway, Adam will be an actor on this tv series….so hey everybody…when he shows…..make sure to watch him….

JLo kills the show for me. She offered nothing for the contestants for two years. A third year is not going to happen for me. I feel sorry for all of the contestants who have such high hopes and their biggest competition on the show is with the judges.

I knew they’d never have Adam on the panel. They want huge American sales (international sales are not easily calculated). Adam would be great and I’d watch again. I think this panel is worse than last year. I’m sure Adam’s schedule wouldn’t be a problem. Keep in mind, no one can save IDOL unless they change the format in my opinion. Spice it up, do duets with the judges or the contestants, stop the no limit voting, bring in a guest judge every week, whatever. R.I.P IDOL.

Are you kidding? JLo? Really? What a joke. And, I can’t believe they’re passing over Adam Lambert, the most personable, talented, interesting, successful and intelligent option for a judge. Down the tubes goes AI. I will definitely never watch again! There’s no integrity in the program’s judges selection. They keep f’cking it up year afer year. Meh

So over this and finished with AI. Never going to tune in unless Adam is on. American Idol and Fox really are clueless with their choices! Boring and irrelevant! They should have gone with younger artists like Adam full of personality, Charisma, articulate and super talented. He would also bring some controversy, which is great for ratings. Everyone would have tuned in! If any contestant has talent, will view via video. They’ve screwed Adam once again and now I say screw them. Cannot believe these Powers make the big bucks and are so stupid!

They PROMISED a “whole new look, a new panel” etc..and ALL we get is more of the same old same. Without Lambert, color me GONE.Idol has been dying since season 8 was over and I’ve only watched when Adam was on as a mentor, guest etc. They NEVER learn do they?
