‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2 spoilers: More news on Gabe’s story

By now, you probably heard the scoop that “Beauty and the Beast” is going to be bringing back Sendhil Ramamurthy for at least a sizable portion of the show’s second season. For anyone who loves Gabe, this has to be seen as awesome news. He’s a strong, dangerous character, and it’s always nice to at least have one person that serves as a formidable opponent to Vincent. That scene in the season finale earlier this year? Pretty epic, to say the least.

While most of the details about the character’s return at the moment are still pretty firmly under wraps, the words of executive producer Sherri Scooper (per TVLine) seem to be reason enough to be excited about it, at least for the time being:

“Gabe has a great arc. It’s awesome … We saw that he was shot to pieces [in the finale], so if he’s back, that would affect his point of view on life. He could be ‘born again.’”

If Gabe does feel some sort of element of rebirth, there could be an interesting feeling that goes along with that: Who is he really going to be tied to? There is a question of alliances that go along with that, and also a heavy air of mystery. We’re always down for shows that try to create a dramatic shift in their fabric for a new season, so we do have to say that we are ultimately very down for seeing what Ramamurthy brings to the table this time around. (Hopefully, he’ll stick around unlike what happened to his character on “Covert Affairs.”
