‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Status of Cote de Pablo hinted at in logline

ZivaThanks to today being CBS’ panel at the Television Critics Association, we are getting a pretty hefty collection of teasers, even in comparison to the usual. Want one example? Just look at the news breaking now that Cote de Pablo’s character of Ziva on “NCIS” may actually be living to see another day, despite the actress’ decision to depart after eight years and lengthy salary negotiations.

CBS likely spent a good period of time creating the logline below just for the sake of ensuring that there was no mass confusion that came as a result, and with that in mind, we really do believe that the network and executive producer Gary Glasberg are planning to keep the character alive, which does help to keep people excited about the prospect of a return appearance for the character in the future:

“Former Mossad agent turned NCIS Special Agent Ziva David leaves the team in an emotional episode. Several unexpected twists will occur related to the personal lives of Palmer, McGee and Vance, and the team will face one of the most dangerous adversary’s they’ve ever encountered. Also, this season the series will mark its 250th episode.”

Now, don’t get your hopes up that this somehow means that Cote could be back this season for whatever reason. If we are meant to take this as evidence that Ziva survives, we imagine that she would be back for something like a milestone episode (if the show makes it to 300), or if there is a series finale down the road. We can’t see her ever being a permanent part of the show again after this, unless the series tanks for whatever reason without her and they throw a ton of money at her to come back (and even that feels like a stretch).
