‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert’s vocals; David Archuleta’s dancing

Adam Lambert featured in new song – Here’s a little treat uncovered by a number of Adam Lambert fans: The singer is featured in a new song by Swedish DJ Avicii currently-titled “Lay Me Down.” Apologies in advance for the audio quality; we’re just sharing what is out there, and we haven’t found anything with better quality.

The song is actually labeled as a Nile Rodgers feature rather than Adam, but Nile is someone that fans of the former “American Idol” star are more than familiar with now. The two collaborated at times on his recent album “Trespassing,” and seemingly have a good friendship in real life.

If you want to hear more about Avicii’s upcoming album in general, take a look at his quotes per Digital Spy:

“I did one track with Nile Rodgers and Adam Lambert that’s kind of very disco. I did another with Imagine Dragons that’s almost orchestral and classical. I then have one that’s funky, one that’s jazzy, one that’s rocky and another that’s blues orientated. It’s kind of all over the place. It’s a fusion, but when you listen to the whole album it makes sense. It sounds like it’s going to be weird, but the final product is what I got so excited about.”

David Archuleta does the Dougie – Ready to party like it’s early 2012? If you remember when the Dougie was a dance sensation for around two months, then you will probably appreciate this new video posted by David Archuleta and his people. Clearly, it’s awesome to see that there are still some videos out there to share while he is gone on an extended Morman mission. On the flip side, this video also potentially shows one of the downsides to recording in advance, since the Dougie is not exactly a cool anymore. (If David had traveled through time and done a “Harlem Shake” video, we would have been seriously impressed.

We joke around, but this is great fun, and proof that David knows not to take himself too seriously.
