‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: One crazy filming schedule

BrienneIn case you have not heard the news yet, “Game of Thrones” is shooting in Iceland, except this time without the ice! The cast members selected (which include Maisie Williams and Gwendoline Christie) and crew have been in a much different part of the country than where Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie spent time huddling up in the cold last year, and the surprising news coming out now is that they are not really going to have much in the way of time to make this country even their temporary home.

If one report from the country (unearthed via Winter is Coming) is to be believed, filming in some various regions could be completed by August 1. A week and a half is not exactly a ton of time to get footage shot, and this could really just translate to mean that the producers are really having to go all-out when it comes to getting filming done efficiently in various parts in the world. We know already that there are other countries (including Croatia) that are still to be visited, and that filming is already taking place in Belfast, Northern Ireland where the majority of the sets are located.

Then again, also consider this: While a week and a half in Iceland may feel like a teeny-tiny window of time for those who know how long filming takes, there may not be that much footage that is needed. Remember that the Iceland filming last year was pretty short, and all things considered, there really wasn’t as much of Jon Snow in the snow as there was during season 2.

We’re pumped to see what the producers come up with, mostly because it involves Brienne. Anything that Brienne does is worth watching out for, at least so long as Jaime Lannister and her continue to share some sort of bond.

There are some more casting announcements that are continuing to come out, so be sure to be on the lookout for those.
