‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: More on Wayne Brady’s return

At this point, you may have heard the news already in regards to the appearance of Wayne Brady on “How I Met Your Mother” season 9. But what is the “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” performer going to be bringing to the table this time around? Apparently, it looks as though it is going to involve some of his well-respected musical chops.

In Speaking on this subject as a part of a new interview with TVLine, Wayne strongly suggests that there will be some sort of a musical number in James’ future:

“My first appearance of the season will involve me singing a little Kenny Rogers-and-Dolly Parton tune, and it’s going to be really funny.”

As for why we’re seeing more of James (meaning more than just a one-episode appearance) in the show’s final season, it is simply because James is family to Barney, and thus is going to be around for something like a wedding. It is for that reason that we also expect to see more of Frances Conroy as Barney’s mother, even if it has not been officially announced just yet.

As for John Lithgow and Ashley Benson, neither is on the radar yet as Barney’s father and half-sister; however, we do anticipate some buzzing starting up at some point. While neither one of these characters has been around Barney’s life for a substantial lengthy of time, it would be ridiculous to not have them involved in the wedding.
