NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner Danielle Bradbery books ‘Today Show’ performance
In a statement, here is what Danielle had to say about this song (which you can listen to a snippet of here), and the story about strength that she finds through its lyrics:
“The first time I heard this song I thought about the emotions in it. For me, Dixie’s story is about inspiration … it is so honest. People of all ages and backgrounds supported me on The Voice and I love that this song shows how we can have the same feelings through different experiences, no matter where we are in life.”
In some ways through this statement, you could almost sense that Danielle is firing back at some of her critics, who have questioned whether or not the song’s lyrics are something that she could relate to. From our perspective, we’re really not worried about this selling copies, or about her performance on live TV since she probably has that down at this point. Her big challenge is going to be breaking into country radio as a woman, which is one of the most impossible tasks out there. Unless your name is Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, or Miranda Lambert these days, you may have trouble.

Heidi….get a life! Danielle at the age of 16 has more class and poise (based purely on your comment’s)…than you have at this point in your life. She is an inspirational young woman (my opinion!!) with a Lot of Class and Stye. You are completely 100% Right about one thing…Fans (of all ages and levels of intelligence) will Buy the Song!!!!…including myself!! This is an idiotic song for a teenager to sing!!! For goodness sakes wasn’t there a single song she could have recorded that would be age appropriate???? I am sure dumb country fans will buy it though!!!
