Severance season 3 premiere date hopes as filming begins

Just in case you were not excited enough to dive into Severance season 3 over on Apple TV, here is another reason to be: Production has kicked off!

In a new post on Twitter, executive producer Ben Stiller shared a somewhat-ominous message that comes with a pretty clear takeaway:

“To return to work is to return home.”

Given that the second season of the Adam Scott show premiered a solid year and a half ago, we do not blame anyone who is feeling rather impatient at this point. This is a show that is big, elaborate, and inspires a billion theories. The intense lore behind it is, ironically, one of the reasons why we have been stuck waiting so long in the first place. The writing process is extensive, and the producers clearly wanted to have their ducks in a row before cameras started to roll.

For those who are not aware, Stiller is not going to be directing this season; however, he does remain very much involved behind the scenes. All signs point to there being at least one more season after this one, though nothing is official there; we just tend to think that with the show’s popularity, it is going to be around for quite some time still.

As for when season 3 will premiere…

The absolute earliest we would expect it at this point is late summer / early fall 2027. If Apple does want to ensure there is less of a wait between seasons than what we got between seasons 1 and 2, this is at least a way in order to pay that off.
