NCIS season 24 premiere date date revealed, plus New York spin-off
While we have suspected for a good while that NCIS season 24 would be premiering on CBS come early October, isn’t it nice for it to now be official? We like to think so!
With that, let’s go ahead and share the rather-nice reveal that come Tuesday, October 6 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, the landmark crime drama is going to return with its latest batch of episodes. It is going to be joined on the schedule soon after by the brand-new New York based spin-off show featuring the return of LL Cool J as Sam Hanna. That series can be described as follows: “In NCIS: NEW YORK, legendary NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL COOL J) returns to his hometown of New York City to the NCIS field office, partnering with a roguish agent (Scott Caan) and helping lead a new team as they are tasked with high-stakes missions to defend one of the most vital cities and ports in the world.”

In getting back to the flagship show for a moment, we recognize fully that there are a number of different stories that will stand out in season 24, starting with the rather simple fact that Michael Weatherly is going to be back as an extended arc as Tony DiNozzo. While he made a brief cameo on the show since the departure, this is the first major arc he’s had in the past several years. (The short-lived Tony & Ziva spin-off is going to be mentioned here in some capacity.)
As for what else we are going to be seeing moving forward, do not be surprised if there is some sort of sizable story paired up with procedural cases. A crossover with the New York show is likely, though at the same time you have to remember that they film on different coasts and there could be some logistical challenges.
