Following what you see tonight on the premiere, what can you expect regarding Stuart Fails to Save the Universe season 1 episode 2?

First and foremost, we do have to commend HBO Max for not doing the predictable thing here in dumping all of the episodes for the Big Bang Theory spin-off at once. We recognize that these episodes are short but at the same time, why not have some material worth talking about week to week? We’re going to see more when it comes to alternate histories, comedy, and of course Easter eggs — the same things that have been hyped up here from the start.

You will have a chance to see Stuart and company back next week with another episode, and the plan is for all of them to arrive on a weekly basis.

Does this show have that traditional Big Bang Theory feel to it? To a certain extent but at the same time, we recognize that this was designed from the get-go to be very much its own thing. It is going to lean into science fiction and push the envelope in a way that is far different than the original sitcom. We longed for a Stuart show long before anything was announced.

As for what else is happening in this universe…

From the multi-camera sitcom angle, remember that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is going to be coming back for a third season as well. That will give you totally different vibes that are a little more similar to the original show — but also then Young Sheldon.

In the end, though, who would have thought that the original sitcom so many years ago would have inspired so many other shows? (It has been almost twenty years since The Big Bang Theory actually first came out.)
