A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2: EP on major challenges
HBO has already confirmed that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 is going to be coming to HBO next year. With that being said, the process of making it has not been easy.
There are some parts of the story that will remain reasonably unchanged from season 1. The scale could be in some ways similar; meanwhile, the goal is not to suddenly make stories that are an hour in length. The show is based on George R.R. Martin’s novellas and very little comes from stretching them out to some extreme level.

So what is different this time around? Well, for starters, filming has faced one challenge after the next. A big part of the story is meant to take place within a drought, something that production had planned for; however, showrunner Ira Parker notes to The Hollywood Reporter that Mother Nature had some other plans:
… The place we chose to shoot our drought in got a once-in-a-100-year storm. It kept getting water, and we got rained out of locations. We got flooded. There were national emergencies. We had to put the crew on hiatus. We were going to go back — and then it happened again. There’s been so much stopping and starting that it’s been hard to get into a real cadence. This has been going on too long for a six-episode season, and we still have three more weeks of shooting.
Hopefully the quality of the show is there on par with season 1, but we certainly do sympathize with everyone who has been forced to go through this process. Without question, this is absolutely a lot that they have been forced to endure.
