NCIS season 24: Is a Cote de Pablo return possible?
Given the news yesterday that Michael Weatherly will be appearing on NCIS season 24 in what is a fairly substantial role, we are left to wonder something more. In particular, we are talking about whether or not more is coming from Cote de Pablo as Ziva!
After all, it is easy to argue that it makes some sense following the now-canceled NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The two characters are not only romantically intertwined, but they are also parents. It would be a little strange to see them apart from each other for extremely long stretches, especially given the separations that they have gone through in their past already. Even if Tony is more prominent on the flagship show moving forward, we do have to get some updates here and there from Ziva … right?

Well, what we can say is that for the time being, nothing has been 100% confirmed. However, we do think it could easily happen and it is worth keeping your eyes peeled for more news. Another inevitable question remains why Tony is being brought back at all. Apparently, it is going to be a season-long arc, which suggests that there could be a beginning, middle, and end. We know that one school of thought is that Tony may be the new Director, but the producers have said in the past that they were more interested in retiring that part of the show (at least in terms of a full-time spot) following the death of Leon Vance. We tend to think it may be tied to more of a specific storyline.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what the producers decide — yet, they have certainly shocked us before with a Cote appearance. We’ll forever remember when Ziva came back from the dead in the closing minutes of a finale, surprising Gibbs and the entire audience in the matter of a few seconds.
