We have been waiting for a rather long time to learn at least a little bit more regarding Lioness season 3 over at Paramount+ — and we have new morsels today!

Ultimately, the most important thing regarding the Zoe Saldaña series is knowing when it will actually be released and of course, we’re thrilled to say at least a little bit more on that now. So where do we start? According to Entertainment Weekly, it has been 100% confirmed now that you will be getting new episodes over the course of the summer. This is something we’ve noted as a likely outcome for several months now largely due to the rather-simple fact that filing is done and the streaming service likely wants a Taylor Sheridan show for that particular mission.

As for the story at the center of the show this time around, let’s just say that it may be as intense and action-packed as anything we’ve had a chance to see so far. Here is some of what the actress had to say to Entertainment Weekly on that subject:

There’s just so much that is constantly being asked of Joe. And I had various conversations with Taylor in terms of where he was gonna take it, and I really am so happy and so proud of the direction that he eventually took for Joe. It was very demanding, I’m not gonna lie. [Laughs.] And I didn’t even know if I was gonna be able to pull it off. But Joe and the team deserved so much more from me, and so I really wanted to step up to the best of my abilities — and I hope I did.

Taylor’s a very educated man, and he’s very curious about foreign and domestic affairs, and he really has a lot to say about all the information that he’s able to take on. And I do have to call him a whole lot, asking, “What does this mean? What does this stand for? Is this how it really happened? Why is there conflict here? What do you understand about this?” And I’m just grateful that, when he is able to pick up the phone, because he’s so busy, he’s this fountain of information. And it’s so helpful, because otherwise I don’t know how I would be able to say the mouthfuls of dialogue that he has for us.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen if this is going to be the last chapter of Lioness or not. Personally, we’re just happy that the show continues to exist as one of the better entries in Sheridan’s pretty-prolific catalog of material.
