Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiere date: A June 2026 update
Now that we have made it to the month of June, is there more news to share regarding Dexter: Resurrection season 2 over at Showtime?
Make no mistake that we would love nothing more than to have the latest iteration of the series back more or less immediately, and for good reason! We had hoped that the first season would be exceptional, and it managed to actually surpass some expectations. Not only was it better than New Blood or the final seasons of the original show, but we would say it came close to matching the original highs of seasons 1-4. We had a great Big Bad in Leon Prater, some strong character development, and also a great finale that set the stage for what is ahead. In the months after the fact, we have learned that Brian Cox is going to be playing the New York Ripper, and that Dan Stevens will be on board for a very different sort of adversary, as well.

So with everything we know about season 2 at present, is a premiere date also about to turn up? As wonderful as that would be, this is where we do have to express that a little bit of patience should be required here. Filming is still happening for the Michael C. Hall series and from where we stand, it is hard to imagine Showtime / Paramount+ releasing a premiere date until it is done. All signs do still suggest that we will see the series back in the fall, and we are going to continue to believe in that unless we suddenly hear otherwise.
For the time being, we tend to think that the odds of anything major when it comes to Dexter: Resurrection season 2 being announced in June are pretty darn low. However, we would more than welcome being pleasantly surprised!
