The Testaments season 2: How many episodes should we expect?

We are lucky to know, just days removed from The Testaments season 1 finale arriving on Hulu, that there will be a season 2 coming down the road. By virtue of that, there is really just one major question remaining: What will that chapter of the show look like? We are pretty sure that you are going to have a chance to see Agnes and others continue along their path to rebellion but at the same time, there may be bumps in the road along the way.

The only thing we can say with the utmost confidence is simply that we want the series to continue to deliver more and more — and could that mean more episodes this time around? We can only dream.

Insofar as where things stand at present, the most likely scenario we are facing is that season 2 is going to give us ten episodes, more or less the same as season 1. They could have different lengths, but we are in an era at this point where streaming shows rarely go above the ten-episode mark. Some of this is for cost reasons, whereas another part is simply tied to the fact that these shows take much longer to film than what you see out of network-TV counterparts.

In a way, we suppose that we should just be grateful that we could be getting ten episodes at all here, given that there are some shows that are giving us even less these days. Just look at House of the Dragon or Paradise for examples of that.

If there is any consolation we can offer here in regards to episode counts in general, it is that The Testaments is likely to get a season 3 down the road. This is a series that has already proven itself to be enormously successful and by virtue of that alone, why wouldn’t everyone want to keep this going for a while longer if possible?
