Is Elsbeth new tonight on CBS? We are certainly well-aware of the notion that this is one of those incredibly-fun shows that in a perfect world, we would be able to see 52 weeks a year.

Unfortunately, this is where we do have to emerge with a reminder that this is simply not possible. There are limits to how much any show can film, including one on broadcast TV that has a tendency to move faster than ones on cable or streaming. Last week was the season 3 finale for the Carrie Preston show, meaning that we are going to be stuck waiting a rather-long time to see exactly what is ahead.

So just how long are we waiting here? Well, there is no official Elsbeth season 3 premiere date as of yet — we anticipate that this is going to be revealed at some point over the summer. The general expectation is that it will once again air starting in late September or early October. This is a show that clearly knows what it is and by virtue of that, we do not imagine there being a whole lot done to fundamentally change that.

As for what we do want for season 4…

We do think the show has been on long enough to establish firmly what it is. By virtue of that, we would not mind if there are a few more nods to The Good Wife / The Good Fight than what we have seen so far. This does not mean confusing viewers who did not see those two, but we would not have an issue with the writers leaning in a little more. There have been some instances of it happening over the first three seasons, but could Elsbeth meet some familiar faces in New York?

Beyond this, of course we see no real reason to radically change the format here of the show — or anything else, for that matter.

What do you most want to see moving into Elsbeth season 3 when the show does return?

Be sure to share right now in the attached comments! Once you do just that, remember to also come back — there are some other updates ahead.
