Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 3 preview: A new mystery

Given what you saw in the closing minutes of Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 2 this week on Paramount+, do we have a reasonable sense of what is to come?
Well, to put it bluntly at present, the simple answer here is yes. While there could still be isolated UnSub stories here and there, the bulk of this season does seem to be about a copycat killer to Elias Voit, one that has been called the Fan in the promotional material for the season. He is someone who has listened to Brian’s podcast, one where Voit has made some pretty adamant claims when it comes to people who want to be like him. (Then again, Elias may not be telling anyone the truth about his true intentions right now…)

In general, a bit part of what this season could be about is legacy, and then also how personalities and actions can be passed from one person to the next. There is a generational aspect to the story at this point, as you have veteran agents like Rossi alongside ones who are relatively new to the BAU in Tyler Green, who is still working out what sort of agent he wants to be.
Is Luke going to be okay?
We certainly hope so, largely due to the fact that he lost someone he cared about briefly in his beloved dog Roxy. Garcia is trying to comfort him, but this is someone with a history of trauma who is getting a lot thrown at him all at once. This could be a long and difficult season for him and while we hate that for the character, it will be nice for Adam Rodriguez to have one of his better seasons in quite some time.
