Boston Blue season 2 spoilers: Star on Tom Selleck possibility

We know that there have been questions for some time about Boston Blue season 2 and whether or not Tom Selleck would appear. Isn’t there also a good reason for it? We are talking here about an iconic actor who breathed life into Frank Reagan, one of the most important figures of the original Blue Bloods.
In the past, we have heard Selleck speak about a possible appearance, noting that it is possible without committing to anything. Given that he played Frank for so many years, we also do not tend to think that he feels it necessary to come back. Because of this, it may really just be about trying to find the right story befitting of a new appearance.

Speaking to Woman’s World, Sonequa Martin-Green 9who plays Lena on Boston Blue) indicated that there has of course been conversation about bringing Tom back, though there is a clear difference between that and it actually happening:
“We’ve been talking about Mr. Selleck for a long time … He is always getting asked, and as Donnie always says, the door’s open. We would love to have him and we will make sure the story is just right because Tom is so adamant about the story, as he should be and as we all should be. I think it would be great if we can have him, and I’m excited for whatever story it ends up being if he does come.”
We do know that the second season is going to feature some more actors from the original show in some capacity, and there are also plans to feature a lot more of Marisa Ramirez as Baez after the way that season 1 concluded. For now, the best thing we can do is hope.
