Boston Blue season 2 spoilers: Are there plans for more Blue Bloods alum?

Coming out of Boston Blue season 1 on CBS, we are undoubtedly grateful over the number of Blue Bloods cast members we had a chance to see. Not only did longtime stars like Bridget Moynahan, Len Cariou, and Marisa Ramirez appear in a major capacity, but we also saw the surprising return of Will Hochman as Joe Hill in the finale.

In the end, we recognize that there is never a guarantee that any actor from the original show is going to turn up for more. However, at the same time, it does at least appear as though there are plans for someone else to turn up.

Speaking on this subject further to TVLine, executive producer Brandon Sonnier notes that he and fellow EP Brandon Margolis have already invited some cast members into season 2 who have yet to appear. Meanwhile, Sonnier says that this is not the only good news:

… We have extended the invitation, and people we have yet to see on the show have accepted, so there you go!

So who could be turning up here? We do not think it would come as much of a surprise that Will Estes (Jamie) and Vanessa Ray (Eddie) would be at the top of our wishlist, mostly due to the fact that they have the most story to really get into moving forward. These are two characters who at the end of the original show were embarking on an exciting phase of their lives. It is one thing to hear about them from other people; it is perhaps the most exciting to get more intel from the two of them personally.
