Alien: Earth season 2 premiere date: A May 2026 update

Is there a chance that we are going to be hearing more about an Alien: Earth season 2 between now and the end of May? Obviously, this is something that we are more than excited to get into before too long. Peter Dinklage has already signed on to play what could be a pretty prominent role, and we would not be shocked if some other actors join him in due time.

So just as we are excited to learn more about the show itself, we are equally hopeful to learn when it will actually come back on the air. Is this something that FX could actually reveal before too long?

Well, for the time being, let’s just be realistic here: As awesome as it would be to learn more about Alien: Earth season 2 soon, it is also incredibly unrealistic. There is no reason at present to think that the network is going to share anything before we even hear much about production starting up! There are a lot of metaphorical boxes that need to be checked off here before we start to hear anything more regarding the show’s actual return.

If we were to make some sort of estimate as to when the show will be back, mid-to-late 2027 seems to be one of the better-case scenarios at this point. Remember that a show like this (which will be filming in London this time around) requires not just a long period of production, but also months to render all the special effects after the fact. FX will not rush anything out just as they have shown patience with a number of their other hits. For example, just think about how long we’ve been stuck waiting to see the second chapter of Shogun already.
