Fire Country season 5 premiere date hopes at CBS

With tonight serving as the big season 4 finale for Fire Country over on CBS, why not spend a moment looking into season 5?
The first bit of info to note here is the most obvious: The Max Thieriot drama is coming back for another batch of episodes! It has been a Friday-night anchor for a little while now, and we do not see that changing. However, at the same time there are a few elements in the equation that are a little bit different. For starters, remember the fact that there will be a new showrunner behind the scenes and while we do not expect any radical changes, there could still be some. Meanwhile, a report from Deadline notes that there will only be thirteen episodes for the next season, a steep decline from what we have seen in the past.

So why the episode-count change? It may just be a move from the network to try to program nights with as many different shows as possible; we do not look at it right now as a sign that season 5 could be the final one, mostly because there are clearly a lot of stories in Edgewater worth telling. Also, remember for a moment here the fact that there is a spin-off in Sheriff Country as well as a medical show potentially in development.
As for when the next season will premiere…
For the time being, there is nothing absolutely confirmed on that subject. However, we do tend to think there is a good change that it will be back either in late September or early October, and some more specifics are going to be revealed over the course of the summer. Just keep your eyes peeled and we will have more to share the moment that it trickles in.
