The Testaments season 1 episode 9: The major Garth questions

As we try to get prepared to see The Testaments season 1 episode 9 over on Hulu, there is absolutely a lot to be excited about. At the same time, though, are there more reasons for concern?

Well, if so, let’s just go ahead and throw some attention towards Garth for a moment. There are clearly some threats that are obvious, not that this is a shock given that we are talking about Gilead. This is a place where there are terrible things happening left and right, and we certainly do not think that is about to change. Garth, however, in some ways represents something different — an agent for Mayday, and a hope for a different future. He is deep undercover, to the point now where he could be getting married to Becka.

So can we really trust him? That is what we are left to wonder heading into the next new episode, and for a number of different reasons. For starters, this is someone who seemingly only has one handler and does not even know who June is. His knowledge of the outside is limited and within that, we really need to learn more about how he ended up working for Gilead at all. To say that his knowledge is limited is putting it lightly.

Meanwhile, this is without even mentioning the idea that he could be a double agent. Or, that he may make a mistake due to whatever feelings he does have for Agnes. We know that she is very much in love with him, but some of his own feelings still remain a bit of a mystery. There is a chance that a little more comes out about that in due time.
