Law & Order season 26 premiere date hopes over at NBC

Following tonight’s big finale at NBC, do you want to learn more about a Law & Order season 26 premiere date? Of course, we certainly do not blame you!
First and foremost, though, we should begin here by noting that there is officially another season of the long-running crime institution coming to the network. This was confirmed earlier this month, after the series as surprisingly on the ratings bubble. It performs reasonably well, but not necessarily on the same financial level as One Chicago or Law & Order: SVU. There are a few factors in the cost / profit breakdown here, starting with the fact that it shoots in New York City — which certainly is not cheap. Also, most of the main cast members are reasonably known.

Luckily, we don’t have to worry about the future of the flagship crime drama for a little while longer — and with that, everything pivots to when Law & Order could premiere. The show is on NBC’s fall schedule with a twist: It will actually be airing at 10:00 p.m. Eastern on Thursdays following SVU rather than airing before. This could hurt the ratings due to a later timeslot, but we will have to wait and see. Odds are, the series itself will be out either in late September or early October, with an exact date revealed over the course of the summer.
Will there be any big changes?
Well, it at least feels possible when you consider the history here. There is a chance that we will hear of cast adjustments and the like in the coming months; with this show in particular, there are reveals that happen sometimes without warning, and directly through the press rather than on the show itself. We may not want that to happen, but it still could.
