The Boys season 5 episode 8: EP on series finale expectations
In just under a week now we are going to see The Boys season 5 episode 8 arrive and of course, this story will be huge. How can it not be? We are talking here about the series finale, one that has been many years in the making. There are a lot of people who have died this season already, and it certainly feels like more will be coming.
The unfortunate thing about finales is that everyone has their own feeling as to what they should be. The final season has already faced some backlash, and we do tend to think that more could be coming. Some of that is just the nature of the beast.

Speaking per Syfy, creator Eric Kripke notes just how aware he is of this very thing, and how there was some foreshadowing with The Worm at the top of the season:
“The truth is finales are really hard and pleasing everyone is impossible. There’s nothing [The Worm] says that isn’t actually true … It’s really hard to do and everyone has an idea in their heads as to what they want the finale to be. Whereas you’re trying to stay [true] to what you as the creator want the story to be.”
“I would say anytime there’s a character who’s a writer in anything … pay attention to what that character’s saying, because they’re saying whatever the writer actually thinks.”
Ultimately, we just hope that at least a couple of characters have some sort of a happy conclusion — is it too much to ask that there can be peace for a few people? We sure hope not…
