Is 9-1-1 new tonight on ABC? Of course, we recognize that there could be desire for more of both this show and the 9-1-1: Nashville spin-off, and for good reason. The two are as addictive as anything that you are going to find on network TV, and for good reason. There are twists and turns around every corner, and then also a lot of emotional character stories, as well.

So without further ado, let’s just go ahead and share the bad news: Both of these shows are done for the immediate future. Last week’s installments are serving as the finale for each, at least for the time being. The plan is for them both to come back at some point in the fall, though there is no specific premiere date out there for them just yet. That should change at some point moving into the summer.

So what can you expect when both of the shows return? There are not too many finer details out there about what is to come but at the same time, the spin-off has confirmed that Ryan Phillippe has signed up for a significant role. This adds yet another layer to the story and by virtue of that, there’s a chance for some new dynamics and also conflict. We are very-much of the belief that the more of that we get, the better off we are going to be.

Ultimately, we tend to think that come late August or early September, we will start to be able to see a little more footage for what is actually going to be coming up. In the interim, we are left to mostly wonder and speculate.
