The Testaments season 1 episode 9: All eyes on Aunt Lydia?
We have a reasonably good feeling entering The Testaments season 1 episode 9 that everything will be hitting the fan, and for a pretty good reason. For starters, this is the penultimate story of the season and it feels easy to say that everything will be setting up the finale.
Beyond just this, though, it also feels like there is an elevated sense of danger in the wake of everything that we’ve already seen. Remember that at the end of episode 8, Agnes told Daisy about her conversation with Aunt Lydia, feeling as though nothing would be done in regards to Dr. Grove. She did not understand the signal that was being sent to her, and this could end up causing Daisy to be a bit more bold in getting revenge. It is understandable and yet, it puts her in an extremely vulnerable spot.

So as we move into episode 9 we do hope that we learn something more about one simple issue: How much Lydia truly knows about Daisy and her reason for being in Gilead. She has to have paired her with Agnes for a reason, right? This could be what causes her to anticipate what Daisy is now going to plan, and with that, effectively keeps her safe. Otherwise, the entire operation could be blown wide open!
We tend to think that for almost every The Testaments fan out there, there is a desire to see justice for Agnes, Hulda, and any other victim of Becka’s father. It really comes down to both when and how that happens. We know that Gilead is an extremely bleak world and by virtue of that, we cherish our wins where we can get them … and hope they do not come with severe blowback.
