The Testaments season 1 episode 8: Who knows about Dr. Grove?
We came into The Testaments season 1 episode 8 on Hulu with the anticipation that something more about Dr. Grove would be shared. However, at the same time how could we ever predict so many dominoes would fall?
Based solely on the cliffhanger alone, it is clear that a lot of the main characters are left in a really delicate position where they could all be in jeopardy — at least depending on what Daisy does.

Early on in the episode, Agnes learned from her classmate Hulda that she was assaulted by Dr. Grove — she was encouraged to report his actions, only for Aunt Vidala to press her to cover it up. At the time, Agnes did not share her own traumatic experience, but that changed later when she informed Aunt Lydia of what happened. That’s when Lydia tried to hint that the matter would be dealt with, but the truth about Lydia is that she’s careful about everything she says. This is someone who may be somewhat different than who she was at the start of The Handmaid’s Tale, but personal survival is still the end goal. Agnes later confided in Daisy about the assaults, not then realizing that Daisy may do something about it.
Ultimately, this chain of events in episode 8 signals that Daisy may be willing to jeopardize her secret position for the sake of protecting her friends, and understandably so. They have welcomed her in their own way throughout the season, and she also is reliant on one of them in Shu now to keep a secret of her own.
As for the matches…
Becka was given the option to actually choose Garth as a spouse over Maddox; meanwhile, Agnes is still stuck with Weston. Whether or not these ceremonies actually happen, though, remains to be seen.
