NCIS season 23 spoilers: Will Joanna return?
Coming out of last night’s NCIS episode on CBS, we had a chance to see another figure in Kasie’s life in Joanna. She is someone who was a part of her past, and also someone who caused her to reflect a little bit.
So is there a chance that we see Joanna again at this point? Well, for now, we’re going to adopt a never-say-never approach when it comes to all this.

Speaking on this subject further to TVLine, here is at least some of what Diona Reasonover had to say on the subject of what made the Joanna story so interesting in the first place:
You know, we don’t get to see Kasie argue with someone very much. Normally, she’s just really positive, just sharing information. So to see her be so stubborn and sort of unable to hear the other side of it, I think it’s a real surprise for people. I think that we get to see just how scared she is, because that freezing up, that comes from tension, that comes from being scared. And I think people will be surprised to know that Kasie was so self-conscious, because she’s a very confident person most of the time. I was surprised to learn it.
The fun thing about this Joanna character to us is rather simple moving forward: She has connections to New York. Meanwhile, there is a New York spin-off coming with LL Cool J, who was also a part of this past episode. There is an easy excuse at this point to create a crossover out of all this — and wouldn’t it help to boost ratings?
