The Forsytes season 2 premiere date hopes over on PBS

Following the big finale today on PBS, we would not blame anyone eager to get more news on The Forsytes season 2. Is it actually happening?

First and foremost, let’s just kick this article off by sharing news that many out there should be more than excited to have: You will be getting more of the costume drama. Technically, it has already been ordered through season 3, which is an incredible amount of long-term optimism in an era where a lot of shows end up being canceled in rather quick fashion. This could in theory keep it on the air stateside until 2028.

Now, let’s get more into the matter at hand at the top of the article — when The Forsytes will actually return for season 2. Based on where things stand at present, our sentiment is that a winter or early spring 2027 launch makes the most sense. Even if PBS has a number of episodes banked far in advance, there is no pressing need to rush them to air. We have seen Downton Abbey and other British dramas in the past succeed by coming on the air once a year and developing a real pattern. That also gives time for them to find audiences. We tend to think that this is especially important for a show like this that is under the radar and requires a decent amount of discovery.

As for when we could actually learn when season 2 is coming out, let’s just issue a blanket statement here and say later this year / the start of 2027. It is a little hard to narrow it down further than this but in the end, it is our feeling that the network will do whatever it can in order to promote it — even if it is operating with some limited funds.
