Fire Country, Sheriff Country could get medical spin-off at CBS

In what is news that may not surprise anyone out there, it looks as though Fire Country and Sheriff Country may get another spin-off … and this one is heading into the medical field.

According to a new report from Deadline, there is a new offshoot currently in super-early development, to the point where it does not have a specific writer as of yet. The plan would be to introduce a character during the second season of Sheriff Country who could eventually get their own show, similar in some way to how Mickey was first introduced on Fire Country. Because of all of this, the absolute earliest we could see a medical show on the air here is moving into the fall o 2027.

Of course, you can argue that it is inevitable that we would eventually move into this sort of spot, mostly due to the simple fact that we’ve seen the playbook already to some extent with the One Chicago franchise over on NBC. The big difference here is that Edgewater is designed to be a small community in Northern California, meaning that the resources are going to be far less for these healthcare providers than what you have in the big city.

Since we’re speaking of spin-offs here…

Is nothing else going to happen with that potential show starring Jared Padalecki? He had his arc on Fire Country quite some time ago but in the months that followed, it feels like that news has gone completely by the wayside. We do still want the Supernatural alum to surface somewhere in the relatively near future, other than of course the smaller arc that he may be having on The Boys as we move forward.
