Law & Order season 25 spoilers: Will Ryan Eggold return?

After getting a chance to see Ryan Eggold on Law & Order this season as Vincent Riley’s brother, is there a chance that he turns up again?

Of course, we should note from the start that we will always advocate for seeing more of the New Amsterdam alum as often as possible. Why wouldn’t we? We are talking here about a guy who has played a lot of interesting characters over the years. Here, Matt is a pretty complicated guy, and exploring the dynamic between him and Scott is really what makes the story so interesting.

Speaking to TV Insider, Scott himself expressed some hope that this is a relationship that can be revisited at some point:

“I believe, and I really hope. and I think that the plan is to get Ryan back for more because that’s just been such a fun relationship to play with … He brings so much to the show, and I know the audience really loves to see these Riley brothers go at it. My overall hope is that we get Ryan back at some point before the end of the season.”

Even if it does not happen this season, doesn’t it feel easy to assume that it could transpire down the road? We know that a season 26 has not been officially greenlit as of yet over at NBC, but there is a good chance that we’ll see it revealed in due time. It is just really hard, at least from our vantage point, to envision a scenario in which the network does not want this show back, especially with everything that it has brought to the table over the years. (Also, consider the relationship that exists with Wolf Entertainment.)
