Grey’s Anatomy season 22 finale: Could Owen Hunt actually die?
We recognize that the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 finale is not going to air until we get around to early May but at the same time, the powers-that-be have given us plenty to worry about.
So what is front and center here? Let’s just put that in fairly simple terms: The fate of one Owen Hunt. The promo for the penultimate episode of the season strongly suggested that his life could be on the line so clearly, the producers want you to be concerned about whether or not Kevin McKidd’s character could be killed off.

Is that like to happen? For now, let’s just say that we’re not sure. Grey’s Anatomy is one of those shows that has long proven that they will kill people off, but at the same time, we also don’t think they need to do that with every character out there. Ever bit of news out there about McKidd and Kim Raver’s impending exits suggests that their characters won’t have a devastating end to their story, so we will have to cling to that on some level. (We also do still think that on some level, there is a chance that we will see one or both of them back as directors down the road.)
Ultimately, our thinking here is that a near-death experience for Owen could be the sort of thing that inspires some element of change entering the next part of his life. That is something that happens a lot in life and at this point, we do think it would need to be something enormous for this character to really evaluate things differently.
