Grey’s Anatomy season 22 episode 17: Danielle Savre back as Maya

The bad news when it comes to Grey’s Anatomy season 22 episode 17 is rather simple at this point: You will be waiting a good while in order to see it. The plan is for this particular installment of the show to arrive on April 30.
So, in the interim, is there more that we can celebrate here? Well, we tend to think so, especially for longtime fans of Station 19, as Danielle Savre is reprising her role of Maya! We have not seen the ABC series really acknowledge that much of the spin-off over the past year or two, and we think some of that is intentional: A lot of people did not watch both shows, and there is less incentive for the producers to acknowledge a series that is over. (Of course, the irony here is that one cast member of that show in Jason George is now back on Grey’s Anatomy.)

As for what brings Maya into the hospital at this point, it is honestly rather simple: An emergency that leads to her being a patient. Of course, we would hope that her return signals that we will also see Carina, but that is not confirmed at the moment. The series could always just write in that she’s off somewhere else but will rush to be at her side as soon as possible.
Maya is not the only person who will be back in this episode, as you are also going to get the return of Scott Speedman as Nick — though we’ve known for a while that he would be coming back in some form. The same goes for Ellen Pompeo as Meredith, and we understand more as to why now.
