Euphoria season 3 trailer record could raise odds of season 4

Even though Euphoria season 3 does not premiere on HBO for a little more than a week, one thing is already starting to feel clear: The new chapter could be an even bigger ratings smash than any of us anticipated. To think, we say that as someone who certainly anticipated it doing rather well.

After all, here is what we can say already. According to a new report coming in from Deadline, the third season managed to draw 157 million views within its first 48 hours. That is enough for it to set a record for a return series at the network / HBO Max, and it proves that even though there was a huge wait between seasons, the demand is very much still here.

What absolutely does remain interesting to us is that through much of the promotion for Euphoria so far, there has been no mention anywhere when it comes to season 3 being the final one. We know that it has been easy to assume that so far, but a lot of that is really just tied to the fact that Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and many other cast members are now big names with a ton of movies under the belt. Nobody fundamentally needs to do this show anymore … but do they want to?

From where we sit at present, our general feeling is that unless there’s a surprise series finale promoted later this spring, we’ll close season 3 with a feeling that it could be the end. However, at the same time, everyone could keep their options open for something else years down the road.
