In just a handful of days from now, you are going to have a chance to see NCIS season 23 episode 14 arrive over on CBS. Is there anything more we can say about it now?

Well, first and foremost, it only feels right to note that “Fleeting” is the sort of episode that does have an inevitable cloud hanging over it given the recent death of Leon Vance. There are some questions that the show will need to answer at some point, and that includes who the new Director is going to be. Do we anticipate someone getting the job full-time Tuesday night? No, but we do think that the series, despite being a procedural, will have to address a few topics and give us some emotional moments.

With all of that being said, though, here is your reminder that the series is still a procedural, meaning that NCIS is still going to have to go out and do some of what it does best. That means investigations that are going to still take place, and that there will be a little bit of humor as the team works to uncover the truth.

If you head over to the link here, you can see some of what we’re talking about as Torres, Knight, Parker, and everyone else works to uncover a situation that takes place during Fleet Week, a time when there are a large influx of sailors in the area. This is going to be one of the more chaotic cases they’ve taken on in some time, and there are moments you are meant to very-much laugh at. In the end, we think the writers may be out to just present something different after the tragedy — but rest assured, there will still be a toast to Vance in here, as well.
