We know that the vast majority of the Young Sheldon cast has appeared on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage at some point. Heck, this can even be true for Lance Barber as George Sr., a character who is technically dead.

So with all of this in mind, it is all the more glaring now that the one person who has not shown up yet is Young Sheldon himself in Iain Armitage. The character went off to Cal Tech in the series finale of the prequel, and that does line up with what we knew about him from The Big Bang Theory. The original lore was that Sheldon did not see his family that much after moving and what we are seeing is a reflection of that. However, there is still potential here at some point … right?

Well, let’s just say that Armitage does remain open to it, provided the perfect opportunity for an appearance comes about. Speaking recently to TV Insider, here is what the actor had to say:

“As much as I would love to, and as fun as it would be at some point, I don’t think it’s necessary. I think it would be fun, and I would love to do it, but they’re doing such an awesome job. I would feel bad going in there and diluting their hard work.”

We do tend to think that we are going to see Sheldon on the Georgie – Mandy spin-off at some point. We just think the producers are being really careful here to not overshadow what the main focus here is meant to be. We already know where Sheldon ends up, so there is no real mystery there. However, the title marriage of this show is up in the air, and there is a lot of room to explore various dynamics here long-term.
