Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen season 2: Is it renewed, canceled?

Following the big release of season 1 today over on Netflix, is there a chance that we are going to see Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen season 2? Or, have we reached the end of the line for the series?

Well, the first thing that we should really do here is give people unaware of the show a chance to know what it is about — after all, the streaming service has so many programs that it can be rather easy for things to get lost in the shuffle. Take a look at the official synopsis:

If Carrie is horror’s version of a girl becoming a woman, and Rosemary’s Baby is the horrific version of a woman becoming a mother, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is horror’s take on a woman becoming a wife. Rachel (Camila Morrone) is getting married in five days. Together with her fiancé, Nicky (Adam DiMarco), she embarks on a road trip to his family’s vacation home, secluded in a snowy forest, for the intimate wedding ceremony of their dreams. Which really would be so lovely, except … prone to superstition and paranoia, Rachel can’t shake the relentless feeling that something bad is going to happen. Her foreboding doubts, coupled with a series of eerie coincidences and dreadful surprises, force her to ask the question: What makes two people soulmates? And worse — what could be scarier than lifelong commitment to the wrong person?

So what will the future hold here? The first season does tell a story with a beginning, middle, and end, so you really do not have to worry about any loose ends dangling out there moving forward. However, there is still a chance the show continues as an anthology. Here is what creator Haley Z. Boston told Screen Rant on that particular subject:

It was conceived of as a limited series, so it is kind of a full story, but I think there’s a world where it’s a totally different, very bad thing. I’d have to find another existential fear to explore.

Anything is possible, right? It will ultimately come down to viewership coupled with a great idea.
